Old Man’s Child Returns to the Stage at Brutal Assault 2026

After more than two decades away from the stage, Old Man’s Child will make their long-awaited live comeback at Brutal Assault 2026, one of Europe’s most important extreme metal festivals.

Formed in 1993 in Oslo, Norway, Old Man’s Child quickly became a cornerstone of melodic and symphonic black metal. Their sound is built on a foundation of relentless tremolo-picked riffs, symphonic keys, and Galder’s unmistakable demonic vocals, creating an atmosphere that is both dark and majestic.

Throughout their career, Old Man’s Child has maintained a reputation as more of a studio project than a touring act, largely due to frequent lineup changes and Galder’s parallel involvement in Dimmu Borgir. Despite this, the band’s albums earned cult status and established them as one of the most respected names in the Norwegian black metal scene.

In 2019, the band announced their reactivation, and in 2025 they confirmed preparations for their first live tour in over twenty years. Their appearance at Brutal Assault 2026 will mark a historic moment not only for the band but also for fans who have been waiting decades to witness Old Man’s Child’s symphonic darkness live.
