Slaughter to Prevail unleash primal rage with new album “Grizzly”

Russia’s most notorious deathcore export, Slaughter To Prevail, are back and heavier than ever. The band will release their long-awaited third full-length, Grizzly, on July 18 via Sumerian Records, marking their most ambitious and sonically punishing effort to date.

Fronted by the iconic and polarizing Alex Terrible, Grizzly promises a rawer, darker, and more dynamic sound that pushes deathcore into uncharted territory. The album features a slew of brutal new tracks that blend blast beats, down-tuned riffs, and guttural howls with modern production and cinematic atmospheres.

But Grizzly is more than just another slab of heaviness. For Alex, it’s a creative turning point. The album’s rollout has been accompanied by high-concept visuals and big-budget music videos that show the band leaning into full-scale theatricality, setting a new standard for modern extreme metal.

In a recent feature with Metal Hammer, Alex Terrible stated:

“We don’t want to be just a deathcore band anymore. We want to bring this sound to a wider audience without losing our soul. Grizzly is violent, but it’s also calculated. It’s the beast inside you.”

With sold-out shows across Europe and North America, a fiercely loyal fanbase, and the internet’s obsession with Alex’s guttural range and demonic mask, Slaughter To Prevail are ready to break out of the underground and claw their way into the metal mainstream.

Whether Grizzly will be the record to redefine deathcore remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the bear has been awakened.
