The artist of the week: Cuentos de los Hermanos Grind
This dynamic band was originally formed in 2006 by the talented musicians Gato con Zorras on bass, Lobo Culión taking on guitar, Bruja Heroína providing the beats on drums, and the distinctive vocalist Bizarrio leading the charge. The clever name Cuentos de los Hermanos Grind was brilliantly conceived by the bassist, who had a clear vision to create a unique Death Metal band characterized by a humorous style, skillfully distorting the classic stories of the Brothers Grimm while incorporating elements that truly reflect the nuances of contemporary Colombian society.

David Zambrano (El Gato con Zorras): Bass - Guitar - Vocals. Active from 2006 to present. His previous musical projects include the innovative bands Mystical Death and Carnivore Diprosopus, as well as Anger Rise. He is also involved in several side-projects where he continues to explore his creativity, such as Ethereal.
Juan Camilo Téllez (Bizarrio): Vocals. Active from 2006 to present. He has worked on notable previous projects, including Mystical Death and Los Malos, where his vocal skills have shone in numerous performances.
Sander Bermúdez (Bruja Heroina): Drums. Active from 2006 to present. His career includes significant previous projects such as Neurosis, Soulburner, and Carnivore Diprosopus, where he contributed his drumming talent. Sander is also part of several side-projects, including Ethereal.
Lina Bermúdez (La Caperucita): Bass. Active from 2024 to present. In addition to her current participation, she has been involved in exciting side-projects like Ataque de Pánico, Vein, and Kilcrops, where she continues to make her mark in the music scene.
Their diverse influences encompass notable bands such as Brujeria, Asesino, Pantera, Napalm Death, and Faith No More. A defining feature that makes Cuentos de los Hermanos Grind widely recognized in the heavy metal scene is their captivating stage presence, which is artfully combined with a consistent delivery of a humorous and satirical tone that resonates with audiences. Each talented member of the band proudly dons a mask that represents a uniquely distorted character drawn from a well-known tale, with the sole exception of the charismatic vocalist, who takes on the evocative persona of a butcher. This artist creatively mangles the stories to suit his bold artistic vision, adding a captivating twist to their performances. In 2008, the band made a significant impact in their musical journey by releasing their highly anticipated debut album titled Los Cantipuercos, which received official recognition and support from the French label Meat 5000 Records.
The following year, in 2009, marked the arrival of drummer Diablo Rojo into the band, stepping in due to the previous drummer's inability to continue working with them. The band's debut performance took place at the Bogotá Grind Death Fest in 2006. During this notable event, they captivated the audience with their first composed songs, including standouts like Perricienta Part 1, Atrévete, and Blanca Hueles, among others. Since that remarkable moment, they have ascended to become one of the most awarded and visited heavy metal bands in Colombia.
By 2014, the band proudly released their second album titled El Tesoro Del Placer, which features a compelling collection of nine original tracks along with two enticing bonus tracks. Notably, this album was entirely self-produced by the band members themselves, showcasing their creativity and dedication. In 2016, Bruja Heroína made a triumphant return to take on the drumming duties once again for Cuentos de los Hermanos Grind. Then, in 2022, the band launched their highly anticipated third album, titled El Fantasías Desanimadas de Ayer y Hoy. This latest release is filled with original tracks and, like their previous works, was also fully self-produced by the talented band members.
