Colombian titans Riptor announces new single and upcoming video “Villain”

Colombian thrash metal band Riptor has confirmed the release of their new music video “Villain” on November 21, marking the arrival of their second single from their upcoming album The Salvation

The band explained that each track from The Salvation will be released together with its own video, forming a complete visual and musical concept. Because of this plan, the digital version of the album has not yet been released in full. However, the record is already available in physical form, presented in a Digipack edition, allowing fans early access to the artwork, liner notes, and conceptual vision behind the work. The band explained that each track from the album will be released together with its own video, forming a complete visual and musical concept. For this reason, the digital version of the album has not yet been released in full. However, the record is already available in physical format, presented in an exclusive Digipack edition, which captures the band’s visual identity and sonic power.

According to the band, “Villain” is a representation of the political class, portrayed through a dark and destructive lens, without mentioning any specific names. The song embodies a force that comes to devastate everything around it, reflecting Riptor’s critical vision and their aggressive musical style.

Formed in Cali, Colombia, in 2012, Riptor quickly became one of the leading names in the Latin American thrash scene. Their early releases, including the EP Absurda Fe and the debut album Sounds From Hell, established their reputation for precision, speed, and energy. Over the years, the band has performed at major festivals such as Calibre, Cali Underground, La Cruzada del Fuego, FIURA, and Festival del Diablo, sharing stages with international acts like Exodus, Sodom, Samael, and Accept.

After a brief hiatus, the group returned with a bold new vision. Guitarist and vocalist Camilo Castro led the production of Riptor Filarmónico – The Salvation, an ambitious project that merged thrash metal with orchestral arrangements. It was created in collaboration with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Cali, the Universidad Icesi, and local choirs, under the guidance of producers Carlos Andrés Bonilla and Germán Rodríguez. This work highlighted Riptor’s ability to merge classical and metal worlds while maintaining the intensity of their original sound.

Today, Riptor’s lineup features Camilo Castro (guitar and vocals), Camilo Casas (guitar), Jhonny Loaiza (bass and vocals), and E. Lerma (drums). Their current approach fuses the raw spirit of traditional thrash with a modern, socially conscious edge.

With the release of “Villain,” Riptor continues to expand its creative universe, delivering both a musical and visual experience that captures the rage, reflection, and rebellion of the times.

The official video for “Villain” will premiere on November 21 through the band’s official channels.
